But Hurt, coming out of a primary battle, is rebuilding his war chest. On Thursday, he is scheduled to raise money at a luncheon in Dallas with Texas Reps. Pete Sessions, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, and Jeb Hensarling. Perriello and Clark are to debate in Nelson County the same day.
Hurt has refused to debate Clark, who is very conservative politically. If Hurt skips Thursday's debate, it would be the second time that Perriello and Clark have debated without the Republican nominee.
Robert Hurt would rather raise money with his rich Republican friends than debate the issues here in Virginia. When is he going to actually show up for the job interview?
